The Performing Arts Department is a very active and exciting department. It offers a broad based curriculum in Music, Drama and Expressive Arts for all Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 students. Students have the opportunity to experience the Arts through participation in a variety of performances in many genres.
Facilities are excellent with a dedicated Performing Arts building and a new state of the art Apple Mac Suite completed in early 2011. There is also a fully functioning Drama studio, with excellent lighting and sound equipment.
KS3 – all students have an hour of week of both Drama and Music.
KS4 – Edexcel GCSE Drama, Edexcel GCSE Music and AQA GCSE Expressive Arts
KS5 – Edexcel A Level Theatre Studies and Edexcel A Level Music
They are actively encouraged to take part in extra curricular opportunities and these include Choir, Drama Club, Bands and Productions. Recent productions include:

It’s Showtime (variety of shows such as Legally Blonde and Chicago) – 2010

There is also an annual House competition of Will Rob’s Got Talent. Fashion shows, music concerts and drama evenings are regular events in the department. Trips are offered to all Key Stages, including a KS4 annual trip to London and KS5 summer trip to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Students are also able to have instrumental/vocal lessons. All lessons are individual and paid for through the school.
