Extra-curricular Sporting Opportunities
Sir William Robertson Academy has established an excellent reputation both locally and nationally for our sporting teams. We have enjoyed tremendous success in a wide variety of sports over the years.
The school promotes excellence in PE and sport but also participation. We offer a wide-range of extra-curricular activities including: table tennis, cricket, rugby, rounders, netball, handball, basketball, ultimate frisbee, and indoor football. We enter the vast majority of the competitions offered to us by the Kesteven and Sleaford Sports Association in order to maximise the sporting opportunities for our students. Pupils also take part in activity days throughout the year.
We are constantly striving to maximise opportunities for our students and our sports house matches are very well attended. Teams from Simla, Dragoon, Lancer and Chitral compete in a variety of sporting competitions throughout the year culminating in the annual sports day event and every student in Key Stage 3 will represent their House in at least one of the events. All pupils within school take part in at least one sports house match during the year.
Pupils have other extra-curricular opportunities which vary from annual ski trips to Italy to orienteering in Sherwood Forest.
