BBC Good Food Show – NEC

A group of seventeen BTEC Hospitality students, Mrs Bromley and Mrs Bond were fortunate enough to be allocated tickets for the BBC Good Food Show at the NEC in Birmingham. A special cooking session with the Hairy Bikers specifically set up for schools and colleges was one of the highlights of the day. The pupils had the opportunity to rub shoulders with celebrity chefs including James Martin and the Saturday morning kitchen team as well as some of the winners from the Great British Bake Off. Unfortunately Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood were not there that day much to Alex Maughan’s dismay, as he is Mary’s greatest fan! Lots of food tasting and cooking displays were enjoyed by the whole group ,with just a little time for some festive retail therapy. Most families this year will be receiving food themed Christmas presents!

Every one agreed this was a ‘foodies’ perfect day out with some great ideas for new recipes and techniques to try out at school next term.
