In early May our Year 8 pupils experienced a ‘next steps’ Holocaust Education Trust lesson from Rebecca Parker and Emily Andrew who are now Auschwitz ambassadors and are involved in spreading their knowledge and understanding of the Holocaust to students lower down the school. Emily and Rebecca, Year 13 history students, along with Mrs Rawding visited Auschwitz-Birkenau in March as part of the Holocaust Education Trust Lessons from Auschwitz project. The visit offered the students an opportunity to gain an insight into the reality of the holocaust and attempt to humanise the story of the extermination of around 6 million people.
The visit featured in a large article in the Newark Advertiser following an interview with the students.
