SWRA Primary Maths Challenge 2018
Sir William Robertson Academy was delighted to welcome 56 Year 5 and 6 pupils from fourteen primary schools from Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire to their annual Primary Maths Challenge 2018 on Thursday 22nd March. It was a fantastic event with all the pupils doing amazingly well. Congratulations to Navenby Primary School who were declared overall winners with 171 points closely followed by Our Lady of Good Council Catholic Primary School, Sleaford in second place with 160 points and Rauceby Church of England Primary in third place with just one point behind on 159 points! Other primary schools taking part in the Challenge included: Coddington, Claypole, Witham St Hughs, Cranwell, Bassingham, Brant Broughton, Winthorpe, St Botolph’s – Sleaford, Waddington All Saints, Ancaster and The Mount Church of England School, Newark.
The Maths Challenge was organised by Mr Scott Henshaw, Lead Practitioner in Maths and Miss Lauren White, Maths Teacher. All participants were presented with certificates, goody bags and the winning Navenby team received trophies.
The day’s activities included rounds in Logic, Cross Number, a Group round and a Relay round. The teams of four were made up of Year 5 and 6 pupils.
