Rotary Swimarathon Presentation Evening

Posted by Suzanne Alexander

Staff and students attended the special 30th Grantham Rotary Swimarathon Presentation at St Wulfrums Church on Thursday 27th June. This year’s Swimarathon raised over £46,000 and on Thursday we had the privilege of seeing where all that charity money has gone! SWRA also benefitted from them with an incredible £1000 donation towards Mae Shaw’s memorial garden that brother Jake Shaw in Y13 has been fundraising for. We also received a number of awards, highest fundraising senior school, Swimarathon Young Person Award went to our very own Emerson Flindall for all his leadership efforts, swimming three times over the weekend & for growing into a confident young ambassador of the school. We also had the honour for the second year running of receiving the Kevin Lawry President’s Community Shield award! Mrs Mower also received a beautiful bouquet of flowers for her contributions to the annual event. A special thank you to Caitlin & Ian for travelling home from University again to assist & to some of our wonderful students whom helped with the welcomes, the buffet & the organisation of cheques. Emerson Flindall, Darcie Baker-Brogan, Fenton Smith, Pippa Winter, Imogen Kennett & the highest fundraising contributions Emily Wilson.

We are very proud yet again, we were thrilled to be there to see it all.

Mrs Mower, Mr Grant & Governor, Mr Sampson.
