Neil Oxborrow Tribute

Posted by Suzanne Alexander

It is with great sadness that we learned of the death of Neil Oxborrow last week and would like to pay tribute to him on behalf of our school community and former staff, pupils and parents.SWRA Shield

Neil was appointed Deputy Headteacher in charge of Pastoral Care from 1998 to 2005 as well as being an inspirational and engaging teacher of history. His enthusiasm and energy were instrumental in driving through many initiatives always with the aim of making sure that children’s experience of school was a positive one.

The effects of Neil’s work are still in evidence today as it was his vision to introduce the House System in order to make sure that pupils felt part of a ‘family’ within a growing school. Neil was also a key part of the team who worked on developing our core school aims encapsulated in ASPIRE – principles which still hold true and drive our work with young people every day.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family and will remember Neil as an inspirational Deputy Headteacher with vision, energy and a passion for improving the life chances of the pupils in his care.
